"5X7: Volume 1" Book Coming Soon!

When I started making mixed media art on a bunch of scrap 5 x 7 inch paper I had laying around the studio, I really didn't have any purpose other than to help inspire myself and stay creative, in what I felt was like a tough creative drought at the end of 2016. Fast-forward to September 2017 and I now have enough mini masterpieces to compile the first volume of my now on-going and aptly titled "5X7" series.
Each mixed media work of art is composed of paint, various silk screened imagery and (on occasion) collaged newsprint on various types of paper.
Much of what inspires me (music, movies, vintage advertising, cars, celebrities, comics, color, shapes, texture, etc.) makes a strong appearance throughout in this collection of fifty unique works.
This will be the first art book I've self-published since my long sold-out "We Are Modern" book in 2011, which cataloged my painting series of the same name. In addition to the collection of these 5x7 works of art, there will be some commentary about the work, as well as some behind the scenes images during the making of this collection.
The artist, Ed Ruscha, is probably the biggest influence on this series, as I've always been enamored with his collection of self-published art books he created over the decades. It is a personal goal of mine to produce some interesting art books, as well.
As I write this and continue to make final preparations on the "Volume 1" book, I also have a good collection going for a "Volume 2," which feasibly, could see an early-mid 2018 release, as long as I can keep this creative pace going.
Well, there you have it, the first look at the forth-coming "5X7: Volume 1" art book, which is slated for a late 2017 release. I promise to share pre-order and official release date info when I have it, and any special events that might correspond with said book release. This is kind of a big deal for me, so hopefully you all will dig it as much as I do.
