New In The Studio - April 2018

Spring is officially here in Texas and I couldn't be happier. It's the time of year the weather starts getting warmer, I can ditch the wool socks and sweaters, and I want to stay in the studio longer, making art I want to.

Excited to kick off April with the release of a brand new art print, entitled "Push Button Oil." (I've been a fan of this 3-In-One can design for ages, and finally got the chance to screen print one.)

Over the last year or so, I've been thumbing through old newspapers and magazines, looking for killer ad and editorial illustrations. You don't see these kinds of product images in publications today, and these graphics are a designer's goldmine.

I salvaged this 3-In-One ad illustration from a 1950s 'Popular Science' magazine and gave it new life as a 12 x 24 inch serigraph (aka screen print).

It is hand printed using water based inks on Vanilla Finch 80lb cover stock paper. Each print comes signed and embossed with the official JKFA emblem.

I'm excited how this print turned out, and I can't wait to get one framed and hung in the studio soon. And of course, that beautiful distressed halftone pattern on the bottom! Designer's gold, for sure.

There is a handful of these short-run prints currently available in the JKFA shop. Don't miss out.
