"Home Movies"

For the last couple of years I've been working on this collage postcard series called "Home Movies." Each postcard consists of three circular pieces, once color image flanked by two black and white images. Each circle is cropped focusing on a specific part of the original image and/or texture creating more visual interest and mystery. There is something about the circle shape that has always been interesting to me, and I'm not really sure why, but it's an interesting shape and form to experiment within.

I've been mailing these postcards across the globe since its inception and have been working on an art book featuring a collection of these individual images in different sizes and arrangements. Of course, I had to throw together an animated GIF of some circles as an additional part of the puzzle. Ideally, I'd like to produce a gallery installation of all these circle images and textures in various groupings, sizes, and arrangements. To fill an entire gallery with these images would be a sight to see. I'm hoping at some point in the near future I'll get to further explore this series in a gallery setting (that would require me to have a gallery space again). In the meantime, I'll keep doing what I can to build upon "Home Movies" to share with the public, either on the website or in print. Either way, no matter the platform, It's just nice to continue creating when the mood strikes.
